Diller Teen Fellows Program Assistant – Jewish Community Federation – San Francisco, CA

POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Assistant provides general administrative support and coordination for the Diller Teen Fellows program. The position, which is based in San Francisco, is supervised by the Diller Teen Fellows Education Director, while also managing work assigned by the Diller Teen Fellows Senior Director (located in Israel) and the Diller Teen Initiatives Director (also in San Francisco).

PROGRAM INFORMATION: Diller Teen Fellows is a year-long international Jewish identity and leadership development program for high school students. The program was launched in 1997 in San Francisco. Since then it has grown and today there are 10 North American, 2 South African, 1 Australian, and 13 Israeli participating communities. Each community maintains its own staffing and funding in support of the program. Overall program direction, management, and oversight for the entire international program flows from the Diller Teen Initiatives San Francisco and Israel offices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide general administrative and programmatic support to Diller Teen Fellows North American staff and programming
Assist with conference planning and execution including accommodations, travel, catering, etc.
Assist with and manage communications with all partner communities across North America
Work independently and with JCF accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely budget tracking, reconciliation, payment requests, disbursements, reimbursements, etc.
Update, edit and ensure accuracy of all written materials including Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
Manage travel schedules and manage travel arrangements for 4 Diller Teen Fellows staff members
Manage the Diller Teen Fellows website and other online platforms and update as needed
Represent the Diller Teen Fellows programs in dealings with third party vendors, travel agents, educational providers, etc.
Supervise summer interns and/or temporary assistants on an as needed basis

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong computer skills including all applications in MS Office; HTML a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Hebrew language fluency a very strong plus
Sophisticated web based research skills
Excellent organizational skills including attention-to-detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines
Professional demeanor, social skills, and high degree of integrity
Ability and desire to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team
Desire to work hard in a friendly, supportive environment, with a willingness to learn
Flexible with a ‘can-do’ attitude
Working knowledge of Judaism and the organized Jewish community preferred
Bachelor’s Degree required
