POSITION SUMMARY:
The RP/6 Education Liaison is an integral member of the team located at Washington State’s largest, privately funded, resource center for military, veterans and their families – RP/6. The center’s Education Liaison is instrumental in supporting a collaborative effort between local colleges and universities around the south sound, creating a bridge between a service member, veteran or family member and enrollment into programs and degree programs.
DESCRIPTION OF EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: RP/6 Education Liaison
The RP/6 Education Liaison provides education referral services for current and former service members and family members of current and former service members and is responsible for the following:
Develop and follow an intake checklist for each client served.
Provide career interest assessment services.
Explore partner educational institutions that offer a selected program, confirm education/career pathway(s) and create a plan that may include multiple colleges/universities.
Refer to the appropriate partner institutions as defined by an assessment of student’s interest and program preference using a referral system (email template) that connects students directly to the designated college/university point of contact.
Review financial aid options, FAFSA, financial aid deadlines and create a funding plan to include options and timelines.
Explore financial resources in an effort to remove barriers that would hinder students’ college /university enrollment and retention.
Maintain student data on the Salesforce database (Enterprise Reporting System).
Participate in appropriate program information training at RP/6 and on campuses.
Develop and implement strategic college outreach plan to recruit 300 student veterans to be enrolled in a college/university participating in Education Partnership.
Conduct biweekly outreach and engagement with all participating colleges/universities covered under Education Partnership, including, but not limited to campus visits, tabling events, classroom presentations, and student club meeting presentations.
Host quarterly meetings with RP/6 staff, college /university Points of Contact and any additional partners in order to coordinate education services at RP/6 and review and provide comment on RP/6 quarterly performance report.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
B.S. or B.A. or equivalent work experience required
Graduate Degree (preferred)
5 – 7 years of education-related experience, preferably in higher education
Non-Profit experience (preferred)
Military Family Member or Veteran (preferred)
Proposal/grant/technical writing experience a plus
