Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay (BBBSMB) is seeking a talented, highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team in Boston as a Human Resource Assistant. The Human Resource Assistant’s primary focus is to support the general HR needs for the organization. The Assistant is involved in human resource areas such as employee onboarding and exiting processes, employment compliance needs, professional development administration, salary and benefits administration, performance management systems and employee engagement. The Assistant will also work with hiring managers to understand the requirements of all open requisitions and develop recruitment strategies, as well as participate in the screening, background checking, formal offer and orientation process. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities include:
A belief in the BBBSMB mission.
Bachelor’s degree and minimally 2 years of experience in Human Resources and having general knowledge of concepts such as talent recruitment, benefits, compensation, policies and organizational development.
Outstanding interpersonal, listening, communication and organizational skills to work with a variety of employees and outside vendors.
Proven desire and ability to take the initiative and to help identify and solve problems.
Positive attitude, good work ethic, and high level of customer service and follow up.
Ability to build positive relationships at all levels, both internally and externally, to be an effective work partner.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and be team oriented.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct one’s work with sound judgment is a must.
Excellent professional verbal, written and phone communications is required, as well as superior technical skills with Microsoft Office and database experience.
