Founded in 1971, The Adults and Children in Trust (A.C.T.) Program provides a safe haven where toddlers to teens from many faiths, cultures and economic backgrounds gather to learn, play, and grow, as they participate in a broad range of programs among highly-trained and caring adults. A.C.T. consistently provides children and their families with high quality services that sustain, support and enhance their ability to thrive in diverse communities. A.C.T. offers year-round, affordable, reliable, nonsectarian and socially enriching educational programs and special events for families in and around the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the world’s largest Gothic cathedral.

About the Position:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall support to the administrative function of the program. Must be friendly, outgoing, and professional as well as being comfortable as the first point of contact to families, students, and staff

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1) Assist with reception duties to include answering and directing phone inquiries about programs and staff.

2) Provide general administrative and clerical support including filing, copying, typing, and distributing documents.

3) Perform data entry duties to program database and assist with updating records as needed.

4) Provide overall assistance with daily projects as directed by Supervisor.

5) Assist program staff by coordinating appointments, providing records, giving access to space and use of equipment as required.

6) Help to set up or breakdown during pre–or –post events and assist as needed at events.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an office support role is required. Must be organized and detail oriented. Proficiency in MS Office Suite is a must. This is a part-time (approx. 25-hrs/week) position and requires flexibility in availability. Additional skills required include typing minimum 45 wpm, good verbal and writing skills, excellent skills on PC platform as well as skilled at using internet and email, familiar with office equipment such as printers, faxes, and scanners.

Compensation: Starting hourly rate is in the $10.00-$12.00/hour range and based on experience.
