Office Assistant / Receptionist – Sasha Bruce Youthwork – Washington, DC

Sasha Bruce Youthwork (SBY) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth and families in the Washington DC area. The agency includes 19 programs ranging from shelter for homeless youth to service-enriched transitional housing to street outreach, as well as a variety of counseling interventions using a competency-based youth development approach.

Position Description:

Provide administrative support to Admin staf
Coordinate, process and follow-up services with vendors
Responsible for overseeing, ordering and distribution of office supplies for all programs/departments and Sysco for non-residential programs
Ensure that office machinery, telephone and computer systems are properly maintained and in working order
Assist with managing office operations
Implement policies and procedures set-forth by the Executive Director, Finance and HR
Provides resource and referral information to the community
Compose ID letters for staff
Meet, greet, and direct clients and the guest to the appropriate person and/or service
Serves as the primary telephone operator
Provide prompt and accurate responses and information to callers concerning the program’s full range of services
Serves as the key operator for office machinery
Keeps office machines clean, and well stocked with paper and toner
Maintain the confidentiality of the office
Distribute fax transmittals
Receive, review, stamp and distribute incoming mail to the appropriate staff and/or or program, with special attention to confidentialit
Develop and maintain administrative form document
Receive and direct questions regarding employment opportunitie
Perform confidential, and administrative assignments for the office Directors
Other duties as assigned
