PRODUCTION ASSISTANT – AIDS CHRONICLES (Intern/Volunteer)

DESCRIPTION: This opportunity will place special focus on production related to the AIDS Chronicles project. Basic production includes reading, collating, painting, and cover design/production, as part of a multi-step process. Production for the 2014 edition will use ‘ghost images’ to contrast AIDS media coverage with the prominent front-page coverage given to Ebola that year. The Intern may also help to archive/ digitalize completed pages and AIDS related ephemera and obituaries in conjunction with Institute’s AIDS repository. REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidates are independent, curious, self-motivated, flexible and zen, with a keen attention to detail. Must have the ability to maintain focus and consistency while working independently for prolonged sessions. Familiarity with painting techniques and artistic practices, as well as experience with digital imaging and photography, highly desirable but notrequired.
