Kevah is seeking a detail oriented, enthusiastic candidate to join our dynamic team as a Program Assistant, Client Services. This team member will be responsible for providing support to the Program and Education Departments, and helping ensure that our Kevah Groups program runs smoothly. Ideal candidates will have outstanding client services skills and 1-2 years of prior work experience. This is a unique opportunity for someone to join a small, innovative, highly collaborative team and to play a key role in a rapidly expanding organization.
Kevah’s main office is near Rose and Shattuck in north Berkeley, about a 15 minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART, and close to several bus lines. Compensation is $14/hour plus benefits.
Key Responsibilities Kevah’s Program Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Program and Education Departments, including correspondence with our educators and potential Group participants, helping to ensure that the Kevah Groups program runs smoothly.
Program Department Support
Manage Kevah’s participant waiting list, including tracking, placing, and following up with potential participants, in collaboration with the Group Support Coordinators
Maintain semester checklist and calendar
Assist with drafting documents related to internal workflows, such as Operations Manuals
Prepare and create status reports for Kevah partners, in collaboration with Database and Program Assistant and Group Support Coordinators
Plan and coordinate learning events for Educators and/or Kevah Groups participants, working in collaboration with Education Department and Group Support Coordinators
Provide general administrative support to the department, including filing, database updates, and travel arrangements
Education Department Support
This work is conducted with guidance from the Director of Education.
Take primary responsibility for standard communications with educators, via email and phone, related to group matching, Group host check-ins, trainings and other communications as needed
Support the educator matching process for Kevah Groups
Assist with standardizing Education Department workflows and crafting email templates
Update and maintain Educator Database
Send education-related materials to active educators
Provide general administrative support to the department, including filing, educator tracking support, and travel arrangements
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Experience in a client support or customer service role preferred
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, though applicants in the final stages of their bachelor’s degree may be considered
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills, including MS Word and Excel, and the capacity to quickly learn and master new systems
Some background in Jewish text study preferred
Interest in Jewish learning and culture preferred

Ability to communicate via phone and email
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
