Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY at www.hoby.org), America’s premier youth leadership organization, provides leadership development programs for high school students throughout the United States and internationally and promotes political awareness, activism, and community service.

HOBY seeks an enthusiastic, well-organized individual to serve as the Program Associate at its Westlake Village headquarters, reporting to the Sr. Director of Programs. This individual will assist the Directors of National Programs (DNPs) with duties including data entry, fundraising mailings, student recruitment, general administrative work, data research, and written and verbal communications with staff, volunteers and schools. This position does NOT work directly with students; rather this position primarily supports DNPs with program department work and administrative needs. This position will work in a team environment with the rest of the HOBY Program team. Duties Include:

Working directly with DNPs on special projects.
Producing Recruitment and Fundraising mailings.
Entering data into our Access-based database system and updating information.
Creating and updating document templates and samples for program use.
Conducting data research as assigned.
Providing general administrative support as needed.
Representing HOBY at events
Other duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required. Prefer an individual interested in a career in non-profit work. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint) and Access. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including exceptional phone communication skills are required. Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail required. Ideal candidate must be a problem solver able to multitask and meet deadlines, be able to work independently and as part of a small committed team, be flexible and able to work in a challenging, changing, and high volume work environment, and have a positive “can do” attitude.
