Title: Service/Activity Coordinator-Warner Creek Housing

Regular Full Time: 32 hours/week

Hourly wage: $20 per hour

Reports to: Program Director/Eden Housing Property Management

Unit: Residential – Shelter and Housing Programs-Senior Housing

Homeward Bound is Marin County’s primary provider of housing and shelter for single individuals and families experiencing homelessness–offering short- and long-term supportive housing, job-training and placement, and services in support of our client’s safety, dignity, and independence. We are looking for the right person to join our adult senior shelter and housing program at Warner Creek Housing – a 32 hour per week Service and Activity Coordinator.

Principal Responsibility:

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Service and Activity Coordinator works to engage with all residents at Homeward Bound’s Warner Creek Senior Housing to provide a welcoming environment. The coordinator will work with residents to coordinate specific service needs of residents with other agencies and to facilitate meeting and events with residents both in large and small groups.

Major Duties:

• Track all activities planned for monthly reporting purposes
• Create a schedule for computer room use and coordinate classes, workshops and general supervision of computer room
• Organize and participate in regular community meetings and events
• Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with other HB coordinators
• Partner with Property Manager concerning specific residence conflicts where Facilitator can be of assistance
• Provide residents with information on local events, resources and programming and help coordinate access for residents
• Coordinate and support volunteers
• Assign and supervise completion of daily chores by residents
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned

• Communicates clearly and consistently with supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education or Training Equivalent To:

• Bachelor’s degree highly desirable or equivalent work experience

Minimum Years of Additional Related Experience:

• Experience working with seniors and knowledge of key issues of senior population
• Organized and experienced with documenting and reporting
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Excellent computer skills, especially in Word
• Experience in resource mining
• Embraces core gift philosophy and/ or strengths model of working with people

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, and use a computer mouse, keyboard, and monitor, for moderate periods of time (1 — 3 hours per day)
• Ability to stoop, crouch, kneel, and/or crawl on occasion
• Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
