The Institute of Current World Affairs (ICWA) is a nonprofit Fellowship program that provides talented young professionals with two-year immersive experiences. ICWA identifies and cultivates rare potential by immersing our Fellows in the study of a country, region, or globally important issue, positioning them to become leaders in their fields. For over 90 years, we have supported Fellows doing in-depth, often groundbreaking work abroad.
ICWA is seeking a responsible intern to update web content and social media and take on some administrative responsibilities in our office.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
Data Entry/Website Update: Help move our archived publications and other information to our newly redesigned website accurately and efficiently
Social Media/Content Creation: Help share the work of our Fellows on our WordPress-based website and on other social media channels
Events: Assist with preparation for and execution of occasional events
Office Administration support: Help with mailings, filing, office organization and other administrative tasks
Qualifications:
Completed or working toward a college degree
Some knowledge of WordPress, as well as social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
Previous internship or experience working in an office setting preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
An interest in the nonprofit industry or foreign affairs
Additional Information:
Unpaid internship
Approximately 16-20 hours per week
We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible with a flexible end date
