Family Builders is a non-profit, licensed foster care and adoption agency, serving children in the foster care system. Family Builders believes that every child has the right to grow up in a permanent, nurturing family regardless of that child’s age, race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, or medical, physical or emotional condition. Family Builders educates the community about the needs of waiting children, advocates on their behalf, and places children with permanent, secure families through adoption, and other forms of permanence.

SUMMARY:
We have an immediate opening for a Family Developer. The Family Developer is responsible for providing support services to both English and Spanish speaking families seeking to foster and adopt a child, oversee all family documentation for compliance with government regulations, organize and maintain documentation and files for families, compile and enter information into database(s) and meticulously manage and track information and provide reports. They will provide office, clerical, staff and program support and serve as front office reception.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The qualified candidate will have Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or an equivalent degree or equivalent experience. Will have fluency and ability to translate in both written and spoken Spanish and English; confident, professional, and warm interpersonal and customer- service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with families from all backgrounds.

Candidate must be very detail-oriented with strong organizational, systems-management and writing skills; must be able to work independently within the position’s scope, compliance structures, and established systems and be able to work well with other staff members to complete shared assignments. Familiarity with government compliance and good computer skills: MS Word and Excel; strong experience with Access (preferred) or similar database. The successful candidate will be able to multi-task within a fast-paced environment with consistent accuracy, attention to detail, organization, prioritization and respect of confidentiality. Ability to frequently remain in a stationary position, at a workstation. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to frequently type and use a computer.
