If I Were President defines the world’s top political issues and solutions both online and in grassroots campaigns around the globe. We document the political opinions of the people, and partner with public and private entities to provide location and issue-based feedback directly from constituents.

The organization is seeking a founding Chief Technology Officer – an aspiring web developer with an interest in political engagement – for a unique once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. As the Chief Technology Officer, you will manage the design and development of the civic engagement website & mobile application as you travel with the team around the United States leading up to the 2016 Presidential Election. The CTO gathers feedback from users about the platform, interpreting the requests from clients and customers and deriving web-based solutions.

This position is mainly travel-based and both physically and emotionally demanding – this is a start-up organization, and as a founding member you will be an integral component of its ultimate success. The team will be moving around the continental US from fall 2015 to 2016. Travel accommodations, housing and food are all provided. In addition, a nominal monthly stipend is provided, and each founding member will be vested equally in company equity. As a member of the executive team, you will be involved in all stages of the organization’s development, and will have a profound impact on how the initiative goes to scale. Requirements:

Strong interest in political engagement and a desire for a more representative democracy
Significant experience in web development & mobile applications for Android/iOS
Ability to communicate effectively and work in collaborative settings
Eagerness to be part of a startup, and willingness to invest in other team members and the If I Were President mission
Availability to travel with the team between Fall 2015-2016
