Church Administrator – Grace Episcopal Church Newton MA

Grace Episcopal Church seeks a part-time parish administrator to manage its church office and oversee daily operations of a vibrant, welcoming, and inclusive parish. The parish administrator plays a vital part in extending our welcome into the community.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to plan and organize work independently. Primary responsibilities include maintaining membership database, producing weekly e-newsletters, updating website, coordinating social media communications, providing customer service to callers and visitors including community groups who rent church space, producing leaflets for weekly worship, coordinating volunteers, and managing general office administrative duties. Reports directly to the church rector and provides administrative support to rector, staff, vestry, and committee members.

Schedule: 20 hours/week from late August through June (Tuesday – Friday 9:00am-2:00pm), July and August hours are flexible at 10 hours/week.

Pay range: $17-$21/hr

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years administrative experience. Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills; flexibility and ability to multitask; and friendly and professional demeanor; ability to maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated tech skills, and experience with Microsoft Office, social media, and basic website maintenance. Experience with churches and basic graphic design skills a plus.
