The Job Developer is responsible for promoting job search participants to the employer community and liaising with employers to obtain job leads and to identify jobs. This includes working closely with the job search facilitators to ensure the service reflects participants’ needs, abilities and employment goals. As well, the Job Developer will coach, support and monitor clients in the initial stages of employment and maintain relations with employers. The job developer is expected to keep up with changes in the field, have current knowledge of the Washington DC metropolitan area job market and, together with their colleagues, develop and maintain innovative programming that achieves the highest standards in employment practices and adult education. This position will require a great deal of mobility; a car would be a benefit.
Minimum Qualifications: The successful applicant will have a Bachelors degree and experience in one or more of the following areas: (1) Sales/marketing (2) Employment Specialist (3) Case Manager in social services field.

Well versed in MS Excel and Word, good typing and mouse skills, and must have the ability to learn the THRIVE DC data base and document participant and employer activities in real time. Specific Responsibilities:
Remaining current on Washington DC metro area labor market trends and the most effective job search strategies, techniques and monitoring marketplace trends
Maintaining and updating employer database and tracking system
Identify issues such as housing, health care, substance abuse, etc, faced by clients and provide necessary support and referrals.
Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to all participants
Cultivate a targeted network of potential employers in the Washington DC metropolitan area in order to obtain job orders for participants.
Coordinating and conducting marketing and outreach activities to community agencies, organizations and employers
Developing relationships with employers in a variety of industries to ensure successful job development for clients
Locating job openings for clients based on their individual skills and abilities
Market Thrive DC clients to potential employers by making them aware of various hiring incentives.
Maintain activity and results reports, i.e. daily call reports and weekly work goals.
Conduct targeted job search campaigns to place clients.
Consistently meet job placement quotas.
In addition to specialist duties:
Assist on program floor when necessary;
Prepares clear and concise documentation, reports and correspondence
Demonstrate compassion, respect, courtesy, and tact when interacting with others;
primary case management tasks for clients, including developing individualized treatment plans and clinical documentation of progress;
Prioritize, plan, and organize work to meet schedules and deadlines and respond and adjust to multiple demands;
Utilize computerized data systems (Microsoft Office required);
Performs all duties in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner;
Maintain accurate and timely case notes and other records;
Participate in weekly department meetings and monthly staff meetings;
Work with program staff to assure coordinated services;
Have the ability and willingness to do occasional physical labor including lifting, carrying, cleaning, etc; other duties as assigned.
