HeARTs Speak has an immediate opening for an innovative Director of Communications. This is a great opportunity for a person with proven communications and marketing skills to help save the lives of animals through art at this truly unique organization.
Position Summary: The Director of Communications will play a key strategic role in the organization. As a member of the executive leadership team, she/he will be responsible for consistently and effectively communicating our mission and brand.
Responsibilities:
Direct all communications and marketing for the organization – including web, social media, and other platforms – with a focus on expanding public awareness, membership, and media relations
Serve as brand manager for the organization, ensuring consistent representation and refinement of the HeARTs Speak aesthetic
Public relations, copywriting, product and program promotion
Ensure website material remains fresh and current
Oversee a group of communications volunteers
Manage cross-platform digital strategy
Develop and distribute both internal and public monthly e-newsletters
Coordinate media interest in the organization and respond to media requests
Provide guidance to Artists Members around messaging and communications by ensuring they have the tools they need to articulate HeARTs Speak’s mission, long-term vision and philosophy clearly and consistently
Work with outside vendors including graphic designers, printers, and others to create quality communications products while maintaining departmental and project budgets
Partner with all members of the executive team to help them achieve their goals through Communications
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 -5 years experience in Communications with a proven record of accomplishment
An excellent communicator; outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate the importance of the organization’s work to all of its constituents
Proven project management skills
Proven success in digital strategy
Strong marketing skills with a strong sense of design
Ability to take initiative, set priorities and work both independently and as a team player
Familiarity with Word Press and Adobe Design Suite
