L’Arche Greater Washington, D.C., an interdenominational Christian community of people with and without intellectual disabilities who share their lives together, seeks a Director of Development and Communications to plan and manage the organization’s fundraising and communications program.
Responsibilities
Develop, execute and monitor annual fundraising plan that aligns with program and strategic priorities
Manage outreach and engagement with a portfolio of major donors
Serve as advisor to the Executive Director on all fundraising activities, including support for Executive Director’s major donor relationships
Develop communications strategies to support development
Oversee organization of special events, including a successful breakfast
Oversee foundation grants management
Develop, execute and manage a planned giving program
Participate in potential capacity building campaign
Good interpersonal skills and team-focused to supervise development and communications staff
Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure proper documentation
Regular reporting to Executive Director and Board.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree, at least 5-7 years fundraising experience that demonstrates increased responsibility and experience in all facets of fundraising, passion for the mission, strong communication and writing skills, ability to supervise a development team, competency in donor database and other electronic communications, including fluency in social media.
