Position Summary

The position of Director of Operations (DO) will report to the CEO and play a critical role in internal operations. The DO will develop and maintain internal systems, policies, and procedures in areas ranging from facilities and customer service to personnel and strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate is a creative, efficient, strategic problem-solver with fantastic interpersonal and business skills who likes to support and lead a team.
SUMMARY
Vision Education & Media | RoboFun is a growing company that provides fun and creative after-school programs to Pre-K – 12th grade youth. Our students use cutting edge technology to make projects that are personally meaningful to them. They build and program LEGO® robots, solder DIY electronic projects, create and code video games, shoot stop motion animations, and design web pages. We ignite kids’ desire to explore, solve problems and learn.
Examples of Duties
Personnel Management
Be an inspiring and hands-on leader to staff and partners
Join CEO and DFO on the management team
Manage employee relations and oversee policies and procedures for staff
Supervise human resource processes including recruitment, hiring and onboarding
Develop and implement effective performance management systems
Supervise, support and motivate staff of six employees to meet financial benchmarks
Finance
Work with CEO and DFO to manage annual budget
Work with Management team to grow sales and maintain profit targets
Support DFO in developing and implementing policies and procedures as appropriate
Program Management
Supervise the implementation of current curriculum and the development of new material
Develop and implement strategies to grow programs while maintaining excellent quality
Ensure excellent customer service for students, parents, school staff and partners and clients
Identify and advance strategic programmatic opportunities and partnerships
Oversee inventory management
Set up, report and monitor customer satisfaction
General
Work with CEO and DFO to develop and execute 1 – 3 year plan
Work with CEO and DFO to oversee sales and marketing initiatives
Help develop and update reporting mechanisms including a risk register for CEO
Support and advise the CEO in decision-making
Function as spokesperson for the organization when the CEO is unavailable
Other duties as determined by the CEO
Required Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of operations experience, including human resources; education, facilities management; organizational development;
Expertise in designing systems that are efficient and user-friendly
Exceptional written and verbal communications
Commitment to the mission of RoboFun
Comfortable executing both high-level strategic and day-to-day menial chores necessary to run a small business
For-profit / Nonprofit and/ or educational institutional experience ideal
Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Degree is desirable
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to motivate small but mighty teams
Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and projects
Proven experience in customer service and community relations
Exceptional ability to make decisions based upon an ever changing landscape
Available for occasional evening and/ or weekend meetings as needed
