OVERVIEW

Homeward Bound of Marin is recruiting for a Director of Professional Development and Program Support This position will oversee our housing and shelter programs for adults and families experiencing homelessness in Marin. Efforts will emphasize developing staff competency to deliver high quality and effective services to enable program participants to achieve their goals and supporting day to day programmatic needs.

RESPONSIBLITIES

Foster understanding and implementation of the mission, culture, values, and ethos of Homeward Bound.
Act as a creative catalyst to inspire imaginative, innovative and effective delivery of services.
Facilitate a team approach to problem solving.
Take an active role in supporting program staff around the needs and concerns of residents by helping to problem-solve resident difficulties as they arise, including issues related to mental health, substance abuse, and domestic violence.
Support the implementation of client-centered services that are needs-driven, strength-based and culturally relevant.
Provide individual and group supervision to program directors, program coordinators, and other staff on a regular basis.
Plan, deliver and teach weekly life-skills class to students in our culinary program.
Develop and oversee a professional development program for staff, deliver training and provide resources which increase the competency of program staff.
Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree (MSW, MA.Ed, MS) in relevant field preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology or related field required.
5 years supervisory and upper management experience.
Experience working with populations in poverty and homelessness.
Experience working with 24-hour residential programs.

COMPENSATION

Salary range $82,000-$87,000 DOE. Benefits package includes 20 vacation days, 9 holidays, medical, dental, vision, life insurance for employee and a 403(b) salary deferral retirement plan.
