Who We Are The Devoted to Children Foundation (D2C) is a small and growing nonprofit focused on supporting the most vlunerable children of Cayes Jacmel, Haiti. The D2C Family Home was establisehd to provide a long-term home for orphaned, abandoned and enslaved (restavek) children. These children are not put up for adoption but rather adopted into the Devoted to Children Family and brought up in a nurturing environment in their own communities. In addition to the D2C Family Home, the organization is reaching more children in the Cayes Jacmel community through various programs to support their future. What we are looking for
Devoted to Children Foundation is seeking a motivated and goal oriented indivudual preferably with non-profit and/or grant research experience. This intern will provide essential research for the development of our grant application strategy, and will draft and produce grant proposals. This is a great opportunity for someone with grant experience that is looking for an opportunity to build their resume in the area of nonprofit development.
Description
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conducting grant research to identify grant opportunities for Devoted to Children;
Creating and maintaining a calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry and proposal deadlines;
Developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, and communicating the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders;
Assembling and submitting grant requests, including inquiry letters, proposals, and budgets;
Ensuring prompt acknowledgement of foundation gifts and grants received.
Requirements:
Strong time management, organizational and internet research skills a must;
Must be a self-starter, who stays on task.
Familiar enough with grant research and grant writing to be efficient and provide results;
Possess excellent writing and editing skills to engage targeted audiences;
Know your way around the grant world to make the best use of resources available;
Must be a creative, enthusiastic, forward thinker who enjoys working independently as well as part of a team;
Works well with other members of the D2C team to collaborate about fundraising and outreach in support of D2C’s mission.
