Information Systems / Technology Specialist – Urban Teachers – Baltimore, MD

Urban Teachers is seeking a candidate to continue to build the first teacher preparation program to guarantee the effectiveness of its teachers. Reporting to the Director of Information Systems and Technology, the Specialist will be responsible for oversight of all technology procurement, help desk, infrastructure, and software. The specialist will be the project lead on various technology projects related to Salesforce, Urban Teachers website, and more.

Role and Responsibilities:

Provide technological guidance with the organization
Supervise information systems and communication network
Maintain technology assets by implementing computer policy
Provides technical support to the organization through email, phone, walk-ups, chat, ticketing system
Assists in the technology on-boarding and training of new employees
Tests applications and researches ongoing issues to solve complex problems
Act as system administrator to various software solutions including, but not limited to: Salesforce, Google Apps,[[http:Box.com|Box.com]], Asana
Analyze data to identify root causes for problems in user experience or process efficiency
Propose hardware and software solutions to accomplish the organization’s business objectives.
Participate in vendor contract negotiations for all new computer equipment and software purchases for the organization
Together with the Director of IT establish strategic and tactical goals, policies, and procedures for the information IT department

Technology Leadership

Problem-solve technology issues with the Director of IT to ensure seamless execution of processes
Create and execute user testing for technology platforms
Test applications and researches ongoing issues to solve complex problems
Manage on-going security maintenance and security of data systems
Ensure technology systems adhere to organization-wide security policies

Tech Support

Deliver service and support to end-users using and online ticketing system
Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues involving internet connectivity, email clients, VOIP and more
Document all issues and requests in our service management system, zen desk.
Regularly contribute articles for internal and external audiences in our growing Knowledge Base available on our local intranet.
Routinely analyze tickets and issues to assess and make recommendations for being more proactive in supporting the organization
