Position Description
A key member of GLAD’s administrative team, the IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the technology needs of a small but complex non-profit organization. The position supports budgeting, purchasing, inventory control, solutions for data storage and file sharing, network and security solutions, collaboration with key personnel in other departments, documentation, compliance with data security and privacy laws and protocols, selection of and coordination with third-party vendors, device and system support to end users, installation and updating of software, support for internal/external communication platforms, development and implementation of training protocols, and cross-departmental task delegation.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience managing IT for non-profit or legal organization.
Experience managing hardware and software
Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Office365 and other cloud-based solutions
Experience with Microsoft Enterprise and Symantec Enterprise products preferred.
Knowledge of HyperV/Virtualization
Ability to research, refine, and roll-out new systems, products, and policies
Familiarity with Mac and Mac integration
Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge or other donor-management software a plus
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage and Maintain Trouble Tickets/Requests
Liaise with outside IT vendors as needed
Maintain Servers and Key Services
Support server-based applications (FileMaker, Raisers Edge)
Support Remote Offices & Remote Users
Work with GLAD’s Public Affairs and Education and Development departments to coordinate external communication and fundraising platforms
Manage and Maintain Inventory (Hardware, Software, Licenses)
Assist in budget planning for IT products/services
Data and system recovery
Research, evaluate and recommend new products/capabilities, research nonprofit discounts as appropriate; create rollout plans
Coordinate work/major projects with IT support vendor (Minot)
Lead long-term and strategic planning around MIS and IT infrastructure
Assist in Risk Management and provide guidance on best practices
