POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Senior Associate Director, the Job Developer will plan and implement job development and placement services in collaboration with the youth workforce team. The Job Developer will build and maintain internship placement opportunities and employment partnerships with private, public, and community based entities for youth and transitional age youth (ages 13-24.) He/She will also assist students or program participants in placement of work-study/work experience positions, internships, and career-oriented employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred
Age: 21 and older
Education: BA from Accredited College
Availability: M-F 10pm-6:30pm
+ additional hours as required
Related Experience: Workforce Development
Specialized Skills: 2 years in Work Placement Programs

Required
Language Skills: Bi-lingual (Spanish/Chinese)
Licenses & Certifications: First Aid/CPR

Other qualifications:
Pass TB health clearance and fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and FBI.
Possess computer skills in Windows, Word, Excel, database, internet and social media.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

All employees working with the YMCA are considered to have supervisory or disciplinary action relationship over minors. Fingerprints will be taken upon commencement of employment and will be submitted to the Association Office human resources department prior to beginning the first day of work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Develop placements for paid and/or unpaid work experience, work-study, internships, and community service/volunteer opportunities with employers in the private, public, and community sector.
• Create and maintain a pipeline to tech and entry-level employment internships that give access to direct placements with the company.
• Establish a gateway for local collegiate students to access employment services through our Youth Workforce Development Program (i.e. City College and SF State).
• Lead efforts in developing a larger Youth Workforce Development Conference that is youth framed and oriented that addresses pertinent issues within the Youth Workforce Development field.
• Seek and present information on new emerging career pathways through workshops, one-on-one training and other venues.
• Work in partnership with the Youth Workforce Team in creating and maintaining an internal job bank database.
• Maintain current job orders, applications, interview data, and initiate techniques to better serve and match participants with jobs.
• Compile, develop, and maintain file notes, statistical reports, and records with both partners and participants to better understand our own internal success rate and trends.
• Develop a service or employment plan for program clients and participants in conjunction with the Youth Workforce Team.
• Maintain current information on other support services regarding employment to best support our clients and participants.
• Stay on pulse with job market information that creates youth employment trends and shifts.
• Develop and maintain long-term, cooperative working relationships with private, public, and community employment partners.
• Participate on workforce and employment committees as assigned and as appropriate.
• Assist in planning and implementing a job retention system.
• Develop and coordinate job placement activities with Youth Workforce Team, such as field trips and Employment Workshops.
• Perform other related duties as required by Supervisor.
