Membership / Programs Administrator – New York City Arts in Education Roundtable

The New York City Arts in Education Roundtable seeks a part-time Membership & Programs Administrator to assist in the administration of the Roundtable.

The New York City Arts in Education Roundtable is an arts service organization and a community of arts education practitioners sharing information, providing professional development, and communicating with the public to promote our work in schools and beyond. Our members include NYC arts and cultural organizations including Lincoln Center Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, NY Philharmonic, Magic Box Productions, and many more, along with community-based arts schools and programs and individual arts education practitioners. Our activities include the annual Face to Face arts in education conference, monthly professional development programs for the arts in education field, advocacy, and resource-sharing.

The Membership & Program Administrator reports to the Managing Director of the New York City Arts in Education Roundtable. This position is 16 hours per week (two days) on-site at the Roundtable’s office space in Manhattan, December 1 2015 through June 30 2016 initially.

Duties

Membership:

Taking responsibility for ongoing record-keeping and management of membership
Working with the Membership Committee to communicate with current members and potential new members
Working with the Committee on initiatives and events to expand membership

Programs:

Assisting with the administration and roll-out of a new program funded by the New York State Council on the Arts to make the annual Face to Face conference accessible to upstate arts educators and NYC unaffiliated teaching artists through an application and subsidy program.
Managing the registration process for monthly events with members and others
Attending events and assisting with check-in and set up as required

Communications:

Implementing social media activities and e-blasts/e-newsletters
Assisting with the transition of the website to a new back-end provider, particularly database set-up

General administration as needed, which may include some preparation for the Face to Face conference and assistance with fundraising events.

Qualifications

4-year degree
2 years’ experience in a related field
Organizational skills
Strong communication skills/ability to work with the arts in education community and be the point person for problem-solving and communication with members and others
High level of technical/computer skills
Office experience
Interest in the arts and arts education

Some evening hours are required for events. Availability is required April 26-28 2016, when Face to Face takes place.

Pay: $20 per hour. No benefits.
