Passport to Parenting (P2P) Coordinator – Inwood House – New York, NY

Inwood House, a 185 year old child welfare and youth development organization is searching for an energetic, collaborative, detailed oriented individual to serve as the The Passport to Parenting Coordinator. The Passport to Parenting Coordinator (P2P) will work collaboratively in partnership with P2P Advisors/Coordinators in partner agencies to develop services that are “teen friendly”, strength based, and modeled after best practices in the field. Programmatic planning should be focused on enhancing positive parenting practices and promoting the health and optimal development of young children. The P2P Coordinator will also support the evaluation component of the P2P program and will have responsibilities including: planning, database management, overseeing and analyzing focus groups, and overseeing data collection. Duties include but are not limited to:

Maintain records of all enrolled clients;
Assist with program evaluation, internally and externally including administration of pre-and post tests/surveys;
Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation of program delivery activities, observations of program implementation, program feedback, lessons learned, staff development records and all documentations required by IH agency and IH funders
Provide feedback to partner agency staff to facilitate adaptation and report program; activities/progress/challenges to the Passport 2 Parenting Director in a timely manner;
Keep accurate records and statistics using the forms provided, in accordance with administrative directives for program monitoring and evaluation. Submit monthly statistics and reports according to established protocols;
Attend weekly staff meetings and supervision;
Represent Inwood House at meetings, conferences and other venues;
Collaborate with research consultant regarding IRB applications and submission, amendments when necessary, data analysis, and materials needed
Plan details and logistics for focus groups to be provided to partner agencies
Coordinate a minimum of two focus groups per partner agency and provide additional focus groups as needed
Analyze and report on focus groups and service data
Other evaluation related activities as needed.

Minimum Job Requirement:

Minimum Education and Experience: Candidate must possess at minimum a MSW (LMSW/LCSW preferred), MPH, MPA, or related masters level degree; experience working with adolescents, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, child development and the ability to facilitate groups and trainings on parenting issues is required. Also, the candidate must have comfort with discussing issues of sexuality and other “sensitive” topics with teens and adults. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus;
An ability to work independently and to use good judgment when representing the agency;
A commitment to work from a solution based/ strength based perspective;
An ability to work with culturally diversified individuals and organizations;
Ability to conduct training and on-going workshops; ability to plan events;
Understanding of research and evaluation of programs and ability to coordinate an ongoing research project;
Must be a strong communicator and have the ability to motivate others;
Ability to establish professional boundaries and engage in professional behaviors that emulate a high level of ethics and objective/non-judgmental approaches;
Possess excellent organizational, verbal, written and communication skills;
Must be computer literate and have the ability to promote a positive and enthusiastic work environment;
Must be a team player and have the ability to work independently;
Valid NYS Driver’s License preferred and must possess the ability to travel;
Must have a commitment to work from a strength based perspective;
Candidate must be flexible-some evenings and weekend hours are required;
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
