Job Description
The Prevention Manager, reporting to the Director of Program Operations, will implement and manage the new Homelessness Prevention Program designed to assist with focused efforts to address barriers to housing and to secure and or maintain safe, stable, and affordable housing. S(He) will be responsible for implementing the Prevention Program consistent with national best practices, while adhering to organizational and contractual compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Develop and implement appropriate needs assessment tools with program staff to promote positive outcomes for consumers.
Manage Prevention Housing Counselor and Prevention Specialist.
Work directly with prevention program consumers and partnering providers
Manage relationships with community partners, including service agencies, congregations, and education-based groups that will assist with providing additional support services
Work with other CHGM staff to ensure program resources are made available.
Assist with needed events, such as internal educational trainings, workshops and external events.
Attend all required meetings and trainings, and meet all leadership and compliance obligations
Track progress of and submit monthly reports and or weekly updates to supervisor.
Meet regularly with Prevention Team to assess program and client needs
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience working within the homeless population.
Knowledge of community resources and practices with high-risk populations.
Ability to build a strong rapport and maintain positive relationships with clients, partners and general community
Good record keeping and excellent writing skills.
Great organization skills
Ability to work independently with demonstrated management and supervisory skills.
Absolute adherence to client confidentiality policies and maintenance of appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.
Demonstrated respect and appreciation for diversity based on race, class, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and gender presentation, and ability to work with a highly diverse group of clients, co-workers, and colleagues.
A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, and manage multiple tasks.
