buildOn is a not for profit organization working to break the cycle of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations through service and education. buildOn runs community service and service learning programming for 3975 high school students across the US and has built over 800 primary schools worldwide in the last 20 years.

Overview of the Role

The Program Coordinator is responsible for running a successful buildOn program at a buildOn partner high school in San Francisco to engage 100 students weekly through community service and service learning. buildOn relies heavily on metrics, reporting, and program evaluations to ensure we are meeting our goals. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the 8 buildOn program strategies to meet the weekly goal of 100 students/week, and the monthly service goal of 650 service hours/month. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for weekly reporting and managing the evaluation process at their site. The Program Coordinator holds the main relationship with their partner high school and will ensure strong collaboration with administration and faculty throughout their school to support school objectives and enforce school culture.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee buildOn program activities to engage 100 students weekly in contributing 650 hours of service to their community every month.
Coach, support, guide and hold accountable buildOn students in the school to participate in community service and service learning every week, including setting up and managing on-going service placements as part of school requirements
Work directly with Bay Area buildOn staff to run regional service projects
Work directly with buildOn departments, specifically Development and Marketing/Communications to ensure buildOn stories are shared
Create and Maintain strong relationships with partner school teachers, administrators, and community stakeholders to ensure school and buildOn needs are met
Monitor and submit weekly Key Performance Indicator data through Salesforce
Manage and track annual program budget
Manage annual Impact Evaluation process for program
Work closely with other Bay Area program staff to assess, grow and improve regional initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned by manager

You should have a good knowledge of the San Francisco Public School System as well as some familiarity with the organizing and non-profit sector in the region
You must possess a relevant 4 year degree
You are interested in working independently and collaboratively towards goals
You are a strong leader, strategic thinker, progressive problem solver
