Wanted: A vibrant and passionate organizational wizard to lead 250+ creative artists and participants, ages 4 through 17, in a magical, musical summer theatre adventure like no other! Audubon Arts http://neighborhoodmusicschool.org/programs/summer_at_nms/audubon_arts/ has been a favorite program at Neighborhood Music School http://neighborhoodmusicschool.org/ for over 30 years. Ideal candidate must possess excellent administrative and communication skills, experience working with school-age children and a touch of whimsy. This is a year-round position, with flexible hours during the “off season”, and full time from May 1 through mid-August.
The Program Director leads staff in creating an environment that is safe and supportive, and embodies the spirit of creativity, collaboration, and fun. S/he is responsible for hiring arts specialists in drama, music, art, dance, writing, and other areas, as well as counselors who guide students in creating and performing a culminating production appropriate for their age level. The Program Director manages a budget of approximately $300,000, and coordinates recruitment, registration and logistics for the program.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Teaching experience working with school-aged children
• A strong background in the arts
• At least two years of management and supervisory experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Proven leadership ability
• Outstanding organizational and communication skills
