PROGRAM SUMMARY:
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Program Manager to join an innovative model of peer delivered mentoring and child maltreatment prevention services. The ideal Program Manager will oversee the implementation of all Parents Anonymous programs, in particular our peer delivered services in the tri-county area for families impacted by addiction. The Program Manager will demonstrate a commitment to ‘parent voice’, parent leadership development, and a belief that change is possible for every parent
The Parent Mentor program is committed to improving the lives of families impacted by substance abuse and currently involved with the child welfare system. The program is staffed by former child welfare parents who experienced chronic addiction, successfully navigated the child welfare system, and now utilize their unique experience and talents to engage parents and guide them on the road to recovery. Mentors support parents involved with the child welfare system because of addiction – to complete treatment, build a recovery support system and achieve reunification with their children. Over the past decade, this program has built a reputation for positively influencing DHS case practice and informing child welfare policy by securing a place at the table for parents who are former consumers of DHS services.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Manager coordinates and supervises the delivery of the Parent Mentor Program in Washington County and supports implementation of all Parents Anonymous services in Multnomah and Clackamas County. This position provides Parent Mentor supervision, Management supervision, and coordination of program services and training activities. The Parent Mentor program matches parents who were former Child Welfare clients due to addiction, with parents entering the Child Welfare for similar reasons.
REQUIREMENTS:
A typical background for the person who can fulfill the duties for this position is as follows:
Master’s Degree with either an LCSW or LPC
Three years experience in program design, implementation and oversight
Three years experience in management and implementation of contracts and budget oversight
Three years experience direct supervision of employees.
This position requires personal transportation allowing for travel within the Portland metro area
Must pass a criminal history check
