Job Summary:

The YMCA After School Site Coordinator will oversee the After School Enrichment Program. We are hiring for positions at Aptos Middle School and Miraloma Elementary School.

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Site Coordinator will run day to day operations, supervise after school staff, maintain and analyze databases, complete monthly reports, coordinate daily program services, work closely/collaborate with school day personnel, and coordinate program events. The Site Coordinator will also manage volunteers; coordinate on-site CBO’s and participate as an active, integral school staff member on varying school committees. The Site Coordinator will be resourceful and actively work with youth to provide access, opportunity and information on secondary and post-secondary transition including college and career skills.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide site-based leadership, develop and manage the day to day operations/schedule of the after school program.
Train and supervise staff to implement academic, enrichment and recreational activities.
Meet regularly with Principal, Academic Liaison, CBO Partners and District Coordinator to coordinate program design, evaluation process, and outreach efforts.
Meet regularly with School Administration, Teachers, Counselors, and Wellness Center to support staff in actively recruiting and retaining after school program participants, ongoing, throughout the entire school year to maintain grant compliancy for required daily attendance.
Maintain, track, and analyze attendance and snack records.
Coordinate deliberate and consistent parent outreach efforts
Coordinate on-site Community Based Organizations (CBO’s)
Actively participate as an integral school staff member on various school committees as deemed appropriate such as SAP, SSC, SST.
Work Closely with the lead Teacher(s)/Leadership Team to: Identify students and coordinate student outreach for the After School Program, align activities with the regular school day, conduct assessment and surveys, and implement evaluation tools.
Implement systems of accountability for After School Staff, CBO’s, and volunteers.
Interact professionally and appropriately with students, parents, teachers, and school staff.
Coordinate tutoring/homework assistance after school participants.
Coordinate community service opportunities for youth participants.
Uphold YMCA policies for safety, supervision, mandated reporting and risk management.
Demonstrate the Character Counts values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility in all dealings with members, guests, volunteers and fellow staff.
Attend ALL staff meetings and trainings as required
All other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in any related field
At least 2-3 years’ experience working in a management/supervisor position, preferably in a youth environment
Experience in coordinating and developing programs, activities, and/or events
Must pass a background check (DOJ and FBI) and TB test.
Able to work Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, excluding school holidays, furlough days and vacations.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Publisher.
At least 21 year old.
Prefer candidates bilingual in Spanish or Cantonese.
