Salud Para La Gente (SPLG) provides high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective healthcare to underserved low-income communities in the Monterey Bay area, including Santa Cruz County and North Monterey County. We began in Watsonville 1978 as a storefront “free clinic,” and with the ever growing need for health services, in 1992 it became a federally qualified community health center. Today we are a primary health care network with 12 clinic sites and continue provide high quality services to patients of all ages.

We are seeking a dynamic, organized and detail-oriented Systems Administrator that contributes to ensuring Salud Para La Gente’s patient and other services can be provided in a timely and efficient manner by keeping Salud’s networks, servers, workstations, phones and applications running effectively, efficiently, securely and safely. Systems Administrators contribute directly to the successful planning, deployment, operation and maintenance of Salud’s information systems, including participating in researching, designing and deploying network equipment, servers, software, services and other equipment, analyzing and resolving problems reported by users, and assisting in ensuring the organization’s network data is secure.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supports, monitors, maintains and documents LANs, WANs, network segments, and intranet systems, phones, workstations and servers.
Ensures design of systems allows all components to work properly together across Salud Para La Gente sites.
Researches and recommends appropriate hardware, software and configuration for specific users’ needs and projects.
Provides technical assistance and advice to users as needed.
Modifies, updates and repairs hardware, infrastructure and software as needed.
Routinely inspects core systems to identify new issues.
Ensures systems and data are backed up.
Assists in ensuring security in all Salud systems and with Salud’s data.
Keeps abreast of new technologies that may further forward Salud’s mission.
Maintains high level of patience and professionalism while working with and assisting a variety of other employees with varying ranges of computer competency.
Occasionally will need to work nights and/or weekends.
Duties will include working professionally with confidential or private information.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, or related technical field.
Three years of IT Systems Administrator experience, preferably with Windows servers and clients
Must have access to a vehicle and be able to drive daily.
Additional specific training and certifications desirable, such a Cisco routing, SonicWall administration, Microsoft Hyper V administration, Nimble SAN administration, Active Directory administration, ShoreTel phone systems, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience with ShoreTel, Exchange, Hyper V, routing and/or Nimble storage arrays
Experience working in a health care provider setting and with HIPAA and other compliance a plus
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, bicultural preferred
