With immediate effect, the Sexual Violence Center (SVC) is accepting applications for the position of Systems Change Program Manager. This is a central role in our organization, and will allow the right candidate a meaningful opportunity to push forward a victim/survivor-centered agenda to create real change in support of those affected by sexual violence. This is a senior level, full-time position, reporting to the Program Director.
The Sexual Violence Center is an independent, non-profit organization working in Hennepin, Carver and Scott Counties. Each year we provide support to youth and adults through our 24-hour telephone crisis line, individual counseling, support groups, advocacy and legal resources at no cost. Job Summary:
The Systems Change Program Manager works with the Hennepin County Sexual Assault Multi-Disciplinary Action Response Team (SMARTeam) to improve the victim/survivor experience and criminal justice outcomes for victim/survivors of sexual violence in the county. Supporting and leading this team of knowledgeable stakeholders who have come to the table specifically to address Hennepin County’s response to sexual violence, the Systems Change Program Manager works with the team to assess and develop policies and procedures, prioritizing victim/survivor needs.
The Systems Change Program Manager is also a catalyst for systems change within SVC, in collaboration with our staff and advocates. This involves continually developing SVC as a progressive, victim/survivor-centered agency: enhancing our role as a leader in support of victim/survivors of sexual violence, in concert with proactive strategies that recognize and seek to interrupt the use of sexual violence as a tool of oppression. This is a role for someone with the capacity and drive to envision new ways of addressing sexual violence and the determination to see systems change through in a creative and holistic way.
Responsibilities Include:
Administer and implement the standardized SMARTeam 8-step protocol as a systematic approach to coordinate team activities.
Plan, coordinate and facilitate team processes for the purpose of pursuing project and team objectives.
Schedule, organize and coordinate team activities such as meeting locations, minutes and new team member orientation.
Integrate into the position the underlying philosophies of SVC’s advocacy services and anti-oppression work.
Foster relationships with representatives of key stakeholder organizations including law enforcement, prosecutors, legal aid and a range of advocacy agencies.
Work closely with law enforcement from thirty jurisdictions, as well as the Sheriff’s Office; partner with law enforcement on training initiatives and other joint ventures.
Network and communicate with victim/survivors, agencies, responders and community members to gather input on improving responses to victim/survivors of sexual violence in Hennepin County.
Gather, compile, disseminate and maintain detailed records for project.
Prepare and promptly submit all necessary project reports and updates.
Represent the SMARTeam in the community.
Participate and contribute to the team staffing environment at SVC which will include program development and direct service delivery.
Coordinate with the Sexual Violence Justice Institute (SVJI).
Supervise and mentor any systems change staff members and volunteers.
Required Skills, Experience and Characteristics:

Demonstrated ability to work and build respectful relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of community and criminal justice systems.
In-depth knowledge of the legal and medical response processes specifically related to sexual violence.
Critical thinking skills, and the ability to share new ways of conceptualizing problems and solutions with diverse groups of people.
Well-versed in presenting and training on the root causes of violence and oppression.
Fluency with strategies and methods of support for victim/survivors of sexual violence.
Senior level program development, strategic planning and system-based organization skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including superior meeting facilitation and public speaking skills.
Demonstrated experience ensuring accountability and transparency with funders and stakeholders, including the ability to produce timely, accurate and comprehensive documentation.
Experience working with diverse populations of victim/survivors.
Ability to juggle an attention to detail, with consistent focus on the bigger picture.
Flexible and adaptable to a fluid work environment.
Candidates bringing specific knowledge of Hennepin County systems will have an added advantage.
Candidates with a background working with law enforcement will have an advantage.
