Creative Art Works (CAW) helps urban kids and underserved communities within Upper Manhattan discover the power of art and their own creativity through visual and media arts programs that incorporate academic enrichment, personal empowerment and community engagement. CAW employs talented art educators for after-school, in-school, and Saturday programs. Specifically, CAW is looking for Teaching Artists and Teaching Artist Assistants for the 2015-2016 Fall/Winter terms to teach middle school mixed media and traditional visual art skills.

August 2015 Professional Development sessions may be required.

All programs typically end with a culminating event. Applicants should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of curriculum in subject field and be able to generate enthusiasm for learning and positive professional relationships with students. They should be organized, and adaptable with VERY STRONG CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT SKILLS. Spanish language skills and experience with at risk youth appreciated.
