Technician III – Sierra House – East Orange, NJ

Sierra House is seeking an Individual Support Technician III. The Individual Support Technician III will assist youth with acquiring, retaining, improving and generalizing the behavioral, self-help, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to function successfully in the home and community. Candidate should be able to provide services and support for youth. Candidate must be willing to travel to clients’ home. This job requires 90% local travel. Locations to choose from include Union, Essex, Passaic, Bergen and Hudson counties.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Implement interventions in individual support plan;

Teach skills to the youth;

Train parent/guardian in implementation of individual support plan;

Collect data; and

Prepare progress notes.

Experience: At least three years of supervised experience in developing and implementing positive behavior and support and ADL/Instrumental skill plans for individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills;

Excellent written communication, research, and organizational skills;

Ability to develop and complete progress notes;

Computer proficient;

Proven ability to think strategically;

Attention to detail with the capacity to simultaneously manage and work on multiple tasks and projects and set priorities in a challenging workload; and

Demonstrated capability of building and sustaining relationships with a variety of individuals and businesses
