Video Production Intern – Awake Storytelling – New York, NY

Awake Storytelling is an impact driven company that uses storytelling as a vehicle for changing the way we see ourselves, each other and the world. We make videos and lead workshops that teach change makers to tell stories that inspire action and we’re currently seeking a Video Production Intern!

The position is for…

A college student or recent graduate
Well-versed in all aspects of video production, from narrative structure to editing
Passionate about crafting impactful, inspirational video content
Interested or involved in social impact work (an interest in education is a huge plus)
Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated
Imaginative, creative, down-to-earth with a good sense of humor
A team player, excited about collaboration, eager to learn and contribute

You will spend most of your internship working on our current project, DEFINE: BLACK, a video series that brings together people of color from different walks of life together to share a nuanced understanding of what it means to be black in America through personal stories and poetry.

Your duties will include…

Assistant Editor duties such as transferring and syncing footage, and creating video selects for first assemblies of videos
Project research for possible new leads or opportunities
Organizational tasks such as inventory and upkeep of external hard drives and equipment

You will be expected to have a minimum working knowledge of Adobe’s Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere Pro though . Expertise with InDesign and After Effects are a big plus! You should also have a laptop that you’d be able to bring in with you to work from.

We’re looking for someone who can commit to this position until the end of the fall semester (December 2015).

The hours for this internship are flexible. We will offer college credit, a glowing recommendation letter singing your praises and a stipend that is dependent on your availability each week.
