Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention advocacy group in the country, is expanding its web development capabilities to support our ground-breaking legislative, fundraising, research campaigns.
We’re seeking a skilled project manager who can take high-profile web development projects from conception to launch — managing agencies and freelancers, and coordinating across the senior leadership, communications, research and digital departments. You’ll be responsible for helping launch projects as varied as a gun safety awareness microsite, a call legislator tool, and an online gun sale interactive report.
The position is based in New York City and reports to the lead project manager.
Key Responsibilities
Manage freelance developers on all work related to website expansions, microsites, and new interactive sites from conception to completion.
Oversee the Everytown/Moms Demand Action technical infrastructure (Domain name management, WPEngine, CloudFlare, etc.).
Assist Campaigns team with technology and website needs and manage development of the mass mailer, CRM and action page templates.
Provide training and assistance to Everytown and Moms Demand Action campaign staff on utilizing online organizing and research tools.
Set up A/B testing with conversion pages and manage Optimizely.
Required Experience
3-5 years of experience project managing web development projects with proven skills in creating efficient processes, ensuring clear communications with key stakeholders and delegating responsibilities.
Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, including setting up and administering servers in the cloud (i.e., Amazon Web Services), 3rd party DNS configuration, content delivery network (CDN) solutions, etc.
Demonstrable understanding of domain registration process from obtaining a domain to setting up and configuring DNS.
Knowledge of effective web design and development best practices including responsive design.
Ability to excel in a setting with many competing projects, tight deadlines and long hours.
Ability to communicate technical and complex information easily verbally and in writing.
Nice-to-Have Skills/Experience
Experience with Salesforce.com, ActionKit.com, or similar APIs and best practices.
Experience with Linux command line and how to troubleshoot connectivity problems.
Fluency in front-end development including CSS, HTML and JavaScript
Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe suite.
Experience with and understanding of social media including OpenGraph meta tags and associated attributes.
Experience managing complex projects and teams using project management software such as Basecamp or Asana.
