Webmaster / Web Designer – GFDD, Global Foundation for Democracy and Development – Washington, DC

Global Foundation for Democracy and development is seeking a Webmaster/Web Designer to manage contents for the Foundation’s websites; plan for future changes to the websites; create and manage online forms; manage domain names, email accounts, and media networks. Experience in HTML 2.0, CSS 2.0, and up. Work with images using Photoshop. Work experience to adapt Javascripts/JQuery. Experience with front-end and backend Content Management. Experience in working with Bootstrap. Experience in working with responsive websites and design responsive websites. Must be proficient in English and Spanish. Will hire immediately.

REQUIREMENTS

– College degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or design-related fields.

– Minimum 2 years of experience as Webmaster and Web Designer

– U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the U.S.

– Proficient in English and A+ in Spanish proficiency

– Flexibility to travel

– A thorough knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques is necessary to ensure that the website gets a high ranking on Internet search engines.

– Promote client websites online to increase their prominence within their web community, whenever possible.

– Knowledge and/or past experience with a variety of software to generate forms, spreadsheets, word processing, network email and intranet programs, and file conversion and compression.

– Knowledge in working with YouTube, video editing, and conversion of video formats.

– Experience working with MAC and Windows platforms.

– A flexible attitude with proven experience of working in a small team.

– Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all staff in different branches.

– Excellent communications skills and attention to detail.

– Ability to multitask and work in an environment with frequent interruptions.

– Excellent organization, communication, and listening skills.

– Work with internal and outside developers to create an effective user experience.

TECHINICAL SKILLS

– Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Flash 8, Fireworks 8, Acrobat 8) and Windows environment (Windows 7, Vista, XP, Microsoft Office, Office 365), MAC environment.

– 2 + years of Internet applications such as DHTML, HTML 2.0 and up, XHTML, HTTP, and XML, developing a site, JAVA, JAVA Script, Photoshop, SQL Database, Office Applications, Dreamweaver, Paint Shop Pro, PHP, Joomla CMS, WordPress CMS, and other CMS

– 2 + years of working experience with CSS 2.0 and up (Cascading Style Sheets)

– ASP development experience is also necessary.

– Familiarity with Microsoft SQL server and SQL reporting services

– Familiarity with Open Sources applications

– Successful applicants will be fluent users of one or more Content Management Systems, including, for example, WordPress, Joomla! and Drupal.

– Knowledge or experience working with relational database management tools such as Access and/or SQL Server

– Work with images using Photoshop.

– Work experience to adapt Javascripts/JQuery.

– Experience with front-end and backend Content Management.

– Experience in working with Bootstrap.

– Experience in working with responsive websites and design responsive websites.

DUTIES

– Convert websites in responsive websites

– Design responsive websites

– Work closely with the Project and ICT Director.

– Advise Director on the new directions in technology to assist with brand marketing.

– Manage two web professionals.

– Review statistics and monitor the analytic report.

– Debug issues that arise with the performance of the website.

– Plan for future changes to the website.

– Maintain Web sites with accurate data.

– Update the Foundation’s contact database.

– Create online forms.

– Ensure that the website is accessible regardless of the browser that is being used to access it.

– Design the Foundation’s web pages, including graphics, animation and functionality.

– Develop web page infrastructure and applications related to pages with more advanced graphics and features.

– Implement search engine optimization strategies.

– Work as a database administrator

– Control the security of the website to avoid hackers’ access to confidential data.

– Ensure that all links in the websites are working properly.

– Register/manage the websites’ domain names.

– Create and manage email addresses.

– The webmaster must know about the client’s business and the industry to which it belongs.
