McLean Bible Church (MBC) is a large, multi-campus church with campuses located in Loudoun, Prince William, Arlington and Montgomery County. The main campus is located in Northern Virginia near Tysons Corner Shopping Center. MBC serves approximately 11,000 people per weekend.
McLean Bible Church is seeking a full-time Adult Services Director for our Access Ministry to oversee the weekend church site programs including Sunday school and social activities. The Director is responsible for the development and implementation of all adult programming including special projects, fellowship opportunities, and service projects. The Director will investigate partner opportunities with other McLean Bible ministries and community based programs to involve teen and adult members.
Duties and Responsibilties:
Decides and procures Sunday school and VBS curriculum for use in weekend classes and other church based teaching programs.
Communicates with Access staff and parents of teens when transitioning participants to teen/adult programming including the “Intake Interview”.
Develops and facilitates respite programming for students for individuals aged 16 and above including gender specific programs such as: Striker Club and Soul Sisters.
Develops criteria for a two week summer day program and one week summer evening program for individuals 16 and above.
Develops volunteer leaders to teach and support programs.
Develops and implements enrichment programming and service projects.
Reserves housing, transportation, plans programming for week long summer retreat.
Acquires nursing staff as needed for programming needs.
Accompanies volunteers and participants to off-site activities.
Meets with other ministries to discover ways to integrate teens and adults in worship and social activities.
Reviews with Director planning, procedures, and provisions to implement programs.
Communicates with Access Ministry Director on staffing, volunteer, nursing, and participant issues.
Connects with community based homes and programs to develop partnerships.
Documents behavior, accident, and incident situations arising during programming on and off-site.
Locate and reserve exhibitors for annual Accessibility Summit conference.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in special education or similar degree.
Experience with children and adults with disabilities.
CPR certification required.
Flexibility for evenings/weekends.
Intermediate level of computer expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent presentation and training skills.
Strong organization and planning skills.
