BACKGROUND

The Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life is a young Jewish identity-building organization created to “Bring Jewish Learning to Life” for young people and their families. We are a beneficiary of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ

THE POSITION

Interest among Greater MetroWest teens to engage in Jewish Service Learning is strong, and it is growing. The Partnership offers several popular Jewish Service Learning programs through which teens explore their Jewish identity. The programs are conducted by a full-time Coordinator and a half-time (20 hours/week) Assistant Coordinator of Jewish Service Learning – that could be you. We are looking for someone to

Arrange, schedule and publicize “Mitzvah Mania” community service events infused with Jewish content.

Assist with Destination: Jewish Service Learning incentive grant program with goal of running the program in next cycle.

Support Iris Teen Tzedakah Program, SeniorITIS, Justice League, and J-Serve.

Update JTEENGMW Facebook page, JTEENGMW twitter, and JTEENgmw.org homepage.

Advertise JTEENGMW programming through email blasts, Facebook boosts and other media.

Contribute to the professional learning and leadership of Jewish Service Learning with other practitioners.

THE PROCESS

Candidates for the position will bring

a BA/BS or advanced degree from a 4-year college/university
experience in working with teenagers
experience and creativity in program planning and implementation
understanding of Jewish holidays, practices and traditions
a commitment to Jewish Service Learning that will animate his/her active, personal recruitment of teens in non-traditional venues
flexibility to adapt to changes
fluency in Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel

The position is based in Whippany, NJ (not from home) and is available immediately through the end of July. It is renewable based on performance and funding. The 20-hour per week commitment includes frequent work on evenings and Sundays.
