ASSISTANT MANAGER AND TRAINER

Supervision Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of the day to day operation for our over the counter and catering food service business.
Summary: The purpose of our in house restaurant and our catering business is to assist adults with psychiatric disabilities to improve and enhance their level of employment functioning by providing intensive, hands-on training and coaching in personal and job skills that help them adjust to the world of work and prepare for competitive employment in the community. This position will share responsibility with the Manager for the above mentioned training as well as for the day to day operation of the business which includes: sales, purchasing, staffing, inventory control, budgeting etc.

Business Operations
Supervise and train department staff members and monitor for customer service and day to day responsibility
Must cook and supervise cooking
Oversee department in absence of department manager
In absence of department manager, will be responsible for cash reconciliation of Restaurant and Catering food preparations
Responsible for the purchasing, receiving, stocking, rotation of product, and the inventory of department
Follow all guidelines and procedures outlined in department health and safety manuals to ensure health and OSHA requirements are met
Schedule Staff and delegate work assignment effectively utilizing employee’s and supplies to provide excellent customer service and maximize department profits.
Provides on-the-job training and supervision to members and Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) clients employed by the Company owned business or worksite, reflecting the standard expectations of competitive community employment
Provides on-going instruction, support and reinforcement to assist members and/or Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) clients to meet clear expectations. Assists participants to organize their work efforts and assignments, understand and meet job behavior and performance standards, recognize opportunities, take initiative, communicate and clarify work needs, give relevant suggestions, solve problems and be creative in their work

Associate degree in Culinary Arts
Minimum 1 year experience providing teaching/training/job skills.
Minimum 1 year cooking experience
Minimum 1 year supervisory/restaurant management experience
ServSafe Certification
Must hold current Serve Safe Certification
Other position requirements:
Must function well in a team-oriented approach to member services
Knowledgeable in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Significant, demonstrated knowledge and expertise in area of cooking and food management
Demonstrated ability to provide adult-to-adult correction and feedback in a clear, patient and respectful manner
Driving with current class C driver’s license, a vehicle for transportation, proof of valid automobile insurance, the ability to be ensured by the Company’s liability insurance are conditions of employment
Flexible work schedule to include some evenings, weekends and holidays
