Coaching Manager – CoachArt – Oakland, CA

CoachArt seeks a Coaching Manager who is able to demonstrate a commitment to CoachArt’s mission by providing direction and exceptional leadership in our programs department. The Coaching Manager will be tasked with the opportunity to develop and manage the volunteer training and outreach components of CoachArt’s program. CoachArt’s Coaching Manager will serve as a voice and model of CoachArt and a champion of our work by driving successful outreach, on-boarding and support of our program delivery through volunteers and program partners. In addition to this role, this individual will supervise a staff that includes up to two Activity Specialists, work in collaboration with our Program Coordinators, and report to our Program Director.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Volunteer Training and Recruitment

Manage overall volunteer recruitment strategy and meet annual volunteer recruitment goal by:
Utilizing on-going needs assessment for regional support in collaboration with Program Coordinators
Oversee and conduct volunteer trainings with updated curriculum
Research, “cold-call” and visit potential volunteer pipelines
Conduct volunteer pitch to organizations/companies
Manage online postings of volunteer job description
Develop training materials for CoachArt volunteers in best-practices of coaching chronically ill children and their siblings
Conduct adaptive sports training to Volunteers
Evaluate effectiveness of volunteer recruitment methods
Provide logistical and event support for all volunteer recruitment-related strategy
Train partner organizations that provide group lessons to CoachArt students on program standards and best practices to ensure overall understanding of CoachArt policies, procedures and accommodation of student limitations.

Volunteer Engagement

Design monthly volunteer newsletter highlighting group volunteer opportunities, general updates, and resources
Plan and execute two annual value events to enrich, support and celebrate CoachArt volunteers
Provide ongoing support and guidance to volunteers as needed.
Provide volunteer support for hospital events on a regulated basis
Utilize Salesforce platform to track volunteer hours and update volunteer contact information
Monitor and analyze volunteer participation statistics
Represent CoachArt in the broader community and to existing Volunteers, and Partners to build our brand and presence by serving as a voice and champion for the organization

Club Management

Supervise contract-based Activity Specialists (Sports/Arts) in line with departmental Club goals, and ensure all Club planning meet CoachArt standards
Ensure CoachArt branding, standards and quality are executed at all clubs, also includes periodic club visits
Monitor and adhere to contractor documentation requirements (i.e. timesheets, trainings, area meetings, logs, etc)
Oversee budget management for assigned Clubs

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required
3+ years experience facilitating training sessions
3+ years relevant professional experience including relationship management, leadership, training, coaching/supervising, and recruiting
Strong facilitation, networking, and presentation skills required
Knowledge of Salesforce, or other CRM database
Proficiency in computer systems, preferably Mac, and the Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in Google Apps / Google Drive
Willing to travel and work flexible hours including weekends and/or evenings
Must pass a criminal background check

Desired Experience:

Education or work experience that can be articulated as relevant to core responsibilities
Knowledge of East Bay community and demographics
Evaluation and Statistics experience or complimentary experience/commitment
