POSITION SUMMARY:
Primary responsibilities include relationship development with (mostly new/existing) colleges/universities, technical schools, churches, corporations, and other community based organizations and coalitions to develop bone marrow registration drives to increase the size and diversity of Be the Match, the national bone marrow registry.
Seventy percent of the position requires cold calling and thirty percent requires conducting a marrow drive/public speaking events. Coordinates marrow donor recruitment activities, promotes fundraising and volunteer services. Achieves monthly and annual recruitment goals within service area. Performs all duties in alignment with the Icla da Silva Foundation (ISF)’s policies and procedures.
KEY SKILLS:
Must be able to public speak to an audience from 20-400 people and have great presentation skills. Ability to Cold call and create own leads that can translate into marrow drives and speaking engagements. Sales experience is necessary.
Experience in networking and community outreach including the use of social media methods and tools with a variety of racially and ethnically diverse communities; Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence others; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects; Self-motivated and goal driven; Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email and calendaring applications, and the Internet. Use of Salesforce Database a plus.
Must be Bi-lingual in English/Portuguese or English/Spanish for the position.
Must have a car.
MINIMUN EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of formal education and experience. A Marketing/Business degree a plus. On evaluation, equivalent experience and/or education related to the minimum experience requirement may be substituted for the degree.
MINIMUN EXPERIENCE:
Experience in outside sales, business or community development, client account management.
KEY KNOWLEDGE:
Sales and Marketing knowledge; Lead generation ability.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a desire to learn and be willing to travel within region as needed (25%-50%), work evening/weekends as needed. Occasional national travel, 2 trips per year. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
