Coordinator, Annual Giving – Music Center – Los Angeles, CA

The Music Center’s Advancement Department is in immediate need for a Coordinator, Annual Giving.

The Coordinator will assist in the implementation of departmental strategies to attain the Music Center’s annual fundraising membership goals including volunteer management, membership appeals, new member cultivation efforts, and events management. The position will provide coordination, administrative and logistical support including but not limited to the Music Center Annual Fund, Center Dance Arts, Club 100 and Music Center Leadership Council donor groups.

The Coordinator will report to the AVP of Advancement and will work closely with the AVP and in partnership with Assistant Managers of Membership as well as working with outside vendors.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordination Duties:

Will work with the AVP and Assistant Managers of Membership, in addition will assist in the management and stewardship of The Music Center Annual Fund, Center Dance Arts and Club 100 donor groups that raise collectively over $1.2 million annually.
Working with the Director of Annual Programs, the Coordinator will assist with billing and administrative support for The Music Center Leadership Council (MCLC) and select MCLC events.
Coordinator will help produce select membership appeals, telefunding materials, newsletters, and electronic communications; and website content.
Coordinate post-performance receptions related to dance engagements and manage logistics for those events including invitation mailing and RSVPs.
Coordinate and produce Annual Fund membership benefits and select member event invitations (2-3 invited donor rehearsals and 2-3 student performances each fiscal year) and manage logistics for those events and benefits.
Work closely with Database Manager to ensure maintenance of select donor/prospect records in our database and prepare reports and mailing lists.
Work with outside vendors to facilitate production of print pieces, premiums, and other items as needed.
Collect event RSVP’s from phone calls, voicemail and emails and enter into Tessitura database.
Assist AVP and Asst. Managers of Membership to help coordinate donor benefits and cultivation activities for robust retention and upgrading of current members, and increasing new member acquisition.
Assist Club 100 leadership with select events and activities involving school site visits, student performances and Very Special Arts Festival volunteer booth.

Administrative Duties

Assist with Direct mail and Telefunding projects involving appeal mailings to renewing donors, lapsed donors and new donors.

Answer Membership & Annual Programs phone lines.
Assist AVP of Development, Director of Annual Programs, and two Assistant Managers of Membership with special projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.

Required skills and qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree preferred

One year professional nonprofit experience preferred; a record of successful experience in activities requiring customer service, event planning or donor relations.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to present information in a variety of formats.

Highly organized with strong ability to effectively prioritize projects with conflicting deadlines; works well under pressure.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Excellent communication skills and phone manner.

Experience working with events and strong customer service skills.

Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Must be available to work some nights and weekends as needed.

Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required’ experience working with data management system (Tessitura) a plus.

Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt/hourly position

Salary: $35,000 – $40,000, commensurate with experience
