We are seeking individuals who are passionate about serving an urban population and contributing to a dynamic school committed to educational excellence. We are currently accepting applications for a Dean of Students. The Dean of Students will be responsible for leading the development of our character education program, managing student discipline, and oversight of all school-wide assessments.
Responsibilities
This position will perform a variety of essential responsibilities, including (but not limited to):
Leading development of character education program, including scheduling, training, and special events for students and parents
Providing leadership and training in classroom management issues, supporting teachers with discipline inside and outside the classroom
Developing and maintaining a school-wide behavior management program contributing to a positive school culture.
Scheduling, training, and evaluating all school –wide assessments (Stanford 10, TerraNova, Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) and others as needed)
Managing supervision of students outside the classroom, including duty scheduling
Keeping Head of School informed about emerging issues
Developing and sustaining positive school culture that reflects character education values
Qualifications
3 or more years of teaching experience
MA Certification as teacher of Special Education (preferred)
Valid Tennessee teaching license
Commitment to the philosophy that all students, regardless of disability should be given the opportunity to succeed at the same level as their peers and should be fully expected to do so.
Proven track record of mediating conflict situations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet utilization, and general aptitude for learning new software
Doing whatever it takes to ensure the mission of the school is upheld.

Qualifications: Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
