SUMMARY:
The Deputy Director of High Schools has overall responsibility for the operation and success of 15 – 20 comprehensive after-school programs based in high schools in New York City and Mount Vernon.
As a leader, The Deputy Director will be responsible for creating a cohesive, supportive team of Program Managers and Site Directors that establish collaborations and strength based development.
This person should be able to manage a high volume of requests and inquiries with a sense of urgency while driving a vision that is encourages and supports decision-making and future focused planning. SASF has strong organizational expectations around marketing and expanding SASF’s signature High School Today, College Tomorrow program to principals, resulting in additional revenue that will support High School programming initiatives.

EDUCATION:
Masters in Education or a Bachelors Degree with related skills and experiences.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 5 years experience in the field of education, with specific skills in select area as indicated below.
Academic intervention services,
Educational guidance,
College advisory,
College readiness,
Youth development administration
Two to four years prior supervisory experience in urban education or CBO
Organizing special and culminating events, including workshops, college tours, conferences, etc.
Building relationships with Principals and key “stakeholders” such as colleges and universities
Managing budgets (multiple budgets totaling over $750,000.00)
Education/teaching or Youth development
Training and technical assistance and Program development and implementation
Community development
KNOWLEDGE of:
NYCDOE/Public School System
HS Common Core Standards with related enrichment activities and theme based projects
HS graduation testing requirements, such as regents examinations and credit accumulation
SAT prep support, college admissions and financial aid education
Funding Sources and Contracts – NYC, NY State and Federal after-school programs
Curriculum design and implementation
Program Evaluation and assessment
Various organizations/networks involved in after-school programming issues
Fiscal planning
