The Maryland, DC and Virginia Solar Energy Industries Association (MDV-SEIA) is currently seeking an individual to fill the role of Development Associate. The Development Associate will report directly to the Executive Director and will also work closely with the Board of Directors. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven, growing organization with a commitment to excellence. The Development Associate’s time will be mainly spent on the following items:

30% Member recruitment and retention
30% Event planning and attendee/sponsor solicitation
20% Administrative (newsletter, database and website management, etc.)
10% Policy assistance
10% Other

Candidates possessing the following skills will be given preference:

Sales/Business Development
Marketing/Design
Event Management

Additionally, candidates will (preferably) be trained in:

Typical office software (Word, Excel, PPT)
CRM use (Salesforce, Insightly, etc.)
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)

This is a remote position, but the Development Associate must be located in MD, DC or VA to accommodate local travel to meetings. The Development Associate is a key staff member who helps the organization meet its annual revenue goal. This position includes a base salary and significant opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses, as shown by the salary range listed.

Solar has made tremendous strides in the Mid-Atlantic over the last few years and MDV-SEIA has led the policy changes that have created this market. In the last two years alone, MDV SEIA’s leadership has resulted in increased state mandated requirements as well as increased penalties for non-compliance, creation of a solar thermal market, improvements to net metering, and game changing gains in the deployment of these green energy technologies.
