Position Summary:
Opportunity Fund seeks a Director of College Success Products. We seek a mission-driven leader with the skills, judgment, passion and project management acumen to lead the pilot and roll-out of College Success products throughout California. This will require acting as “entrepreneur in residence” to develop new financial products that respond to the financial challenges particularly faced by low-income community college students. The first product to be tested/piloted will be a College financing product that is simple, high-impact, and with potential to scale, intended to enable college persistence (retention) and increased enrollment intensity and more rapid progression (compression).

Key Responsibilities:
Work with executive team on final product development and project vision
Develop viable business plan (final value proposition, delivery platform, outreach strategy, partnerships, budget and financial projections)
Develop and implement pilot (timeline, milestones, deliverables) with enrollment in at least 2 campuses (pilot size 100-200 students)
Hire, mentor and supervise staff as needed
Support early evaluation and fundraising efforts
Depending on pilot outcomes, define next steps, build team, and implement roll-out strategy (ramp up to 500+ accounts/year).
Own budgeting and major strategic decisions

Required Qualifications:
BS/BA required.
10+ years’ experience as Project Manager or Director in results driven organizations
Proven track record of leading successful projects/initiatives (soup to nuts) in entrepreneurial environment
ability to hit the ground running and thrive in environment “under construction” with moving targets/goals/vision
jack of all trades- strategic and tactical good sales and people skills, innovative and effective, process and results oriented
Passionate about college success and committed to making a difference
Experience in Education or Financial Services a plus
Graduate of a community college a plus
