Director of Curriculum – Tiny Findings Child Development Center – Washington, DC

Supports supervision through performance feedback and consultation to coordinators, teachers and assistant teachers.
Provides guidance and direction to all program staff to assure a participating role for all employees including volunteers.
Assists with establishing a quality assurance plan to assure the development and implementation of the children’ s education and development plans.
Assists in the development of policies and procedures relative to the operation of the program.
Assists with maintaining staff scheduling for all program activities.
Assists to identify and evaluate basic supplemental teaching materials.

Demonstrates applied knowledge of curriculum and fundamental principles of early childhood care and education.
Maintains working relationships with children, their families, staff, and colleagues.
Demonstrates knowledge of the function and organization of educational programs and other resources at the local and state level.
Demonstrates knowledge of Common Core Early Learning Standards and DC licensing regulations.
Demonstrates familiarity with cultural patterns existing within a community, which may affect the behavior of students.
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.
Exhibit computer literacy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field from an accredited college or university;
Three years of successful teaching experience plus five years of supervisory and/or administrative experience.

OTHER:

Performance will be reviewed six (6) months after date of hire and yearly thereafter.
Probationary period is for six (3) months.
