Director of Education & Empowerment – YWCA Silicon Valley – San Jose, CA

The YWCA Silicon Valley is seeking an early education/licensed child care professional to manage, develop and grow current youth/education based programming.

The Director of Education & Empowerment is responsible for securing and managing funding streams, building strategic relationships with educators and community partners, and implementing innovative service models.

The Director of Education & Empowerment will lead a bold vision of ensuring young women and youth in our community are empowered through education and technology. The YWCA-SV Education & Empowerment Department is comprised of two service areas:

1) Licensed Child Care Centers — our Centers have operated for more than 60 years, providing service to 200 children, aged 6 weeks to 12 years, each year with quality affordable child care, and

2) TechGYRLS Program — this program is designed to empower underserved girls to explore STEM and pursue STEM fields to develop leadership skills

We require:

Master’s degree in social science, MPA, or MBA or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years management experience
5+ years program experience in the areas of early learning, education, STEM/STEAM, and/or youth programming.
Must understand financial and program management, evaluation and planning.
