Kol Haneshamah, a vibrant Reform/progressive congregation in West Seattle, is seeking applicants for Director of Jewish Education. The Director of Jewish Education has responsibility for the on-going development and implementation of our children’s education program (tots through post bar/bat mitzvah). Director is also responsible for the overall management, administration, and operation of all of these educational programs. The Director will work closely with the rabbi and executive director, the Education Committee and other sub-committees, teachers, and other congregational staff and lay-leadership, to ensure successful implementation of these programs.
Hours: Approximately 3/4 time, with possibility of flexible hours. Classes for children are currently held on Tuesdays (4:30-6:00 p.m.) for Hebrew school and Saturdays (9:30 a.m.-12:00 noon) for Shabbat School; Director must be present at these times.
Preferred start date: June 15, 2015
Qualifications:
5 years Jewish Education experience, at least two of those in a Director or Assistant Director position
Committed to Jewish life and education
Solid Jewish background
Working knowledge of basic Hebrew preferred
Creative, energetic, innovative.
Strong interpersonal skills with both children and adults.
Ability to work as part of a team
