Description: The Employment Services Associate (ESA) will report to the Manager of Employment Services and provide direct service coaching and advising (virtual and in person) for Upwardly Global job seekers. He/She is responsible for establishing trust and rapport with job seeker clients and understanding clients’ backgrounds, skills sets, learning/development, and job search progress. The ESA works on the Employer Network team to support the development and growth of Upwardly Global’s Employer Network Program, with a primary focus on management of job seeker job placement. This program is performance-based, and success is measured by meeting annual targets. We’re looking for an energetic, hard worker that can balance persistence, empathy (and tough love!), with efficiency and awesome attention to detail.

Activities will include, but are not limited to:

Job Seeker Management

Manage, support, and coach immigrant/refugees through the job search process including identifying a job search plan, targeting, tailoring resumes, preparing cover letters, interviewing and marketing themselves
Match job seekers with employer qualifications and refer applicants to members of our employer network
Develop understanding of assigned industries in order to support job seekers
Maintain detailed relationship records using Salesforce database: data collection, entry, and some analysis
Collaborate with teams nationally to share community resources, employer connections, and build our national reputation as an innovative source for talent
Comfort with technology, remote resource sharing, and relationship building a must

Program and Development Projects

Provides support on special projects as needed such as cross-office strategic initiatives, local events, ad social media & marketing
Occasionally supports with event recruitment & support, development calls, and individual solicitations

Qualifications:

2-4 years work experience and/or Master’s: background in adult learning, virtual coaching, caseload management, client services, career advising, teaching, or social entrepreneurship a plus
Loves to edit and re-format documents; interest in providing extensive virtual support and training on career-related documents (resumes, cover letter, e-mails, and other U.S. workforce customs)
Culturally sensitive, patient & able to explain cultural nuances to diverse and professional audiences
Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, metric-driven environment; proven track record of success meeting performance-based goals
Know how to manage and prioritize a growing email box
Detail-oriented, reliable, and strong project management skills with an ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines while maintaining a caseload of 50-70 job seekers
Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM a plus, but not required
Upwardly Global will provide training, coaching and support to position high performing candidates to grow personally and professionally
